Its been so long..

so rather then bore you with details we are just going to give you GLORIOUS fashion. No nothing major happened we've just been to busy shopping for SS11! And now that we have recovered from our spending spree FRENZY (WE have recovered...our bank accounts need major CPR) WE WANT TO TELL YOU ALL ABOUT IT!

Spring Summer 2011 is shaping up to be the coolest one we have had in EVER...mixing HIGH STREET q8's FAVORITE era's (70's glam, 90's grunge, 50's chic) and the best thing is it works so well for Kuwait's and the regions weather!

Nothing cooler then wide legged pants and nothing more appropriate for Friday Family Lunch then Dirndl Skirts and we are GOING TO SHOW YOU ALL HOW KUWAIT's FASHIONISTA's are adding their personal touch to the trends!

Oh you dirty dirty readers you....

The hottest 6 inches are the from the top of the bottom lip to a few inches below the lapel.
WE LOVE this ...keep everything in the details and a simple jumper and denim shirt pairing ends up looking fan-daba-dosey. Also this is shirt is not a high street purchase (Marc by Marc Jacobs) but this is a good way to get some mileage out of an expensive shirt. Pairing it under a jumper for winter, and over a white tshirt for spring, and as a shirt for summer. Great little pairing...love the mustard yellow with the denim.

We love us some winter shorts...we actually got so excited by winter shorts that at one point in October (before our japan trip) we woke up in the middle of the night to write "BUY WINTER SHORTS-IN TERRY OR COURDORY" into our todo list.

Yes we are losers like that...

So we love these shorts spotted on a hottie fashionista...both the bag and shorts are from the awesome store gojiboutique.com that stocks some great designers! Love keeping it simple, pairing it with thick stockings and in Kuwait ladies this is the ONLY time you will be able to pull of shorts without getting stared at.
But still, do some of our more conservative readers find shorts and stocking offensive...before you all say YES...why are leggings and long tshirts (that cover all the non PG13 bits) ok but not shorts and thick stockings. Or for that matter...why are skinny jeans ok?

Spotted! Some fashionable worker types prowling the streets of Shuwaikh, Kuwait on their lunch hour (erm lunch half hour actually). A word on all the girls...freaking high street heaven! The boy on the other hand is a perfect example of "Undercover Kashkha" . This (STRAIGHT!) gentlemen saunters into the office so

inconspicuously with his D&G and his Prada, and his MULBERRY breifcase...

we want to raid his closet while he is busy at work clickitting and clackatting away on his keyboard. Is that bad? Does this make us bad people?

Um no. Because we tried to trade our japanese bowler hat for his Mulberry breifcase a few times and he refused...

Awhile back we had spotted hottie highstreetq8's rocking the sock and shoes look. Many people scoffed at these trendsetters but now its totally normal, nay super CUTE to rock this look. Aww we love it when our highstreet girls get the last word...hehe.
We love it with chunky sandals actually for spring, white socks with a little bit of frill on them, or if you are blessed with super thin thighs- then over the knee socks paired with anything from skirts to shorts.( but only if they are super thin, nothing cute about elastic cutting into fat deposits, stick with ankle socks if your not sure). Perfect example of something that is soooo cute and yet so sexy. (All hail Japan's style ethos!)

How to Weather Leather*

A fellow highstreet-er and I had a 20 minute long coversation on how to pull of a leather pencil skirt to work. TA-DAA this is how it is done lovies!

It honestly takes a lot of class and an eye for piecing things together to avoid looking like an extra on "Naughty Secretaries Gone Wild" when you wear a leather pencil skirt . This outfit is sophisticated, multilayered and so insanely cool. It's spot on and trendy without looking cliché. We love how people manage to pull of trends like leather, animal print and studs in one outfit and still come out looking unique and special.

Good Job, you little angel puff of high street fashion you.

Bluer then Velvet Were Her Eyes*

One thing we are going to miss from AW11 is the amazing things done with crushed velvet this season. Such a luxe beautiful fabric, and come on, one cant HELP but notice how nice it feels to run your fingers across your velvet blazer. Best paired with lace in our opinion as seen on this lovely fashionista. If you feel it is too late to partake in the velvet bandwagon why not go with a crushed velvet turban or velvet leggings paired with a basic tee and blazer for SS11?

Be careful though, nothing looks worse than cheaply manufactured velvet, and though many highstreet retailers are doing a pretty good job take a look at your item first. If it collects to much lint, if it has any indented streaks, or if it looks like it may fit better on a curtain rod then your hips ditch the piece all together.

White ankle socks and a cute nude pleated dress with bow-tie detail! This is how you pull off the highest of heels if your personal style is more cutsie and less red light district.

In other news do you all miss us? We sure did. Day jobs getting in the way, and to be honest we really prefer spring/summer to Autumn/Winter street style. After awhile all the blazers, scarves, gloves, coats merge into one homogonous uninspired blur. We are getting back to it since spring is right around the coooorner!

Ok so the usual fashion banter will follow, but for a moment can ANYONE ANYWHERE tell us when we are going to be able to rock fur lined boots, country tweed blazers and ethnic-inspired chunky knits? ITS LIKE a FREAKIN 100 DEGREES OUT IN DECEMBER!

>sigh< Can we just turn up the AC everywhere and act like it's winter time...? The other day we spotted the coolest mango coat, you know the one we talking about the two tone camel coat? It's beautiful, but at almost 60 KWD (200bucks) we were like um whats the POINT?! We are going to wear it what, TWICE this winter? Someone promise us it will get cold so we can click the buy now tab.

As the world get's smaller and smaller, our connections with people become easier to make. The fact that almost 8 months ago we didnt know half the people we know now through blogging & tweeting makes us go "huh...interesting".

Love this beautiful twitter buddy's pics from @clearmess, I've never met her, never seen her in my life but I like sorting through the pieces of random things I do know through her tweets & style pics and constructing what I think this girl's story is like.

Her pieces are basic, yet put together in a unique, cosmopolitan and very edgy sort of way. Hands down our favorite two hair accessory trends for this winter are turbans and bowler hats. This was a follower send in from a beautiful girl who lives in London. She works at a super casual office and finds that wrapping her mother's vintage green silk scarf around her head ala Lawrence seriously ups her coolness factor all the while banishing bad hair days to seasons far away which are devoid of hair accessories!

We absolutely looove this and are going to be raiding our mother's collection of Hermes scarves (you remember when they use to sell Hermes scarves on airplanes in the 90's? hehe thankfully fathers always leave gift buying to the last minute so we are sure your mother has a stack hidden somewhere also!)

Nothing says winter time like a beautifully tailored winter dishdaaaaasha!
